Review Speed

The European Journal of Applied Linguistics and TEFL is committed to maintaining an efficient, rigorous, and transparent editorial and peer-review process.

Initial Assessment: Submitted manuscripts normally undergo an initial editorial assessment within 7 days of submission. During this stage, the editorial team evaluates the manuscript's relevance to the journal's scope, academic quality, originality, formatting, and general suitability for peer review.

Peer Review: Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial assessment are sent for single-blind peer review. The peer-review process is normally completed within approximately 3 months. The actual review period may vary depending on reviewer availability, the nature of the manuscript, and whether additional revisions or reviews are required.

Publication after Acceptance: Once a manuscript has been accepted and has completed the required editorial, typesetting, and proofreading processes, it is published in the current running issue of The European Journal of Applied Linguistics and TEFL. Authors therefore do not need to wait for the completion of the entire issue before their accepted article becomes available online.
